CHIPS London Team is seeking Team Members

Do you want to be part of a community working for peace on the streets of Brixton?

We are growing a community of people living among and actively serving communities affected by urban violence in Brixton. A small team moved onto the Loughborough / Angell Town estate in 2014 and are now seeking a new voluntary team member to join them living in the flat. The flat is the hub of our hospitality, prayer and practical engagement in the community for the pursuit of peace.

If you are passionate about community living, peacemaking, young people, prayer, hospitality, relationships, or living out your faith, then we would love to hear from you! The opportunity to join the CHIPS team will be an invitation for you to participate in and help shape the work that we are doing.

During the first year the focus of the team has been on having an active presence in the area and building up relationships. We have done this through weekly community meals in the flat, detached youth work, schools work, attending local churches, supporting local projects, attending community meetings, supporting neighbours who have struggled with housing issues, working with London Citizens….the list could go on! Plans are coming together to run more practical projects on the estates and we would love you to get involved in these or help us develop new ideas.

If you would like to find out more about this community, we’d love to chat to you. Email Josh on josh@chipspeace.org and come and join us for a community meal!
