The fatal shooting of young Ogarrao Dixon, on June 17th is a stark reminder of the need for reconciliation in the Brixton area. Since Josh Grear’s appointment as London Team Leader earlier this year, the CHIPS team are making real progress there. They already have strong links with local community members and are acting as mediators to community conflicts. Unfortunately, at this relationship-building stage of the project, it is difficult to get the grant funding which will be available when the practical project stage begins – which means that we are especially dependant on the generosity of donors like you. As living and working in London is so costly, we currently need an extra £25,000 minimum each year for this project to be a success.
How you can help:
The most valuable thing you could do, is to give a monthly donation to CHIPS. We are incredibly grateful of the support we already receive - our donors are the rock on which our finances are built.
If you would like to give regularly to CHIPS, please fill out the short form through this link. We would be happy to discuss any questions you might have and will do all we can to make the process as easy as possible.
Other ways to support:
Underpinning all of our work is a strong base of prayer. Please pray for this appeal as well as for the other prayer points on the back of the newsletter.
We rely on our supporters to share their passion for peace and the work of CHIPS with those around them. We would love to help you do this by sending a CHIPS representative to talk at your church, homegroup or any gathering of friends. You could also organise an event to help raise money for CHIPS, or take on a sponsored challenge. Just get in touch and we’d be happy to talk through your ideas.
As we continue to seek peace around the world, we are deeply grateful for your support. With your help, we are making a small contribution to this beautiful process of God’s Kingdom of Peace coming here on earth!
