On the 13th September, five brave people dared to tackle the Great North Run to gather sponsorship for CHIPS charity! They turned up with their CHIPS T-shirts, running shoes and even a cape to take on the epic 13.5 mile track in Newcastle. It was a hot day, which is tough conditions for running in, but there was still great excitement and enthusiasm amongst the team.

I am delighted to say that, not only did all the runners complete the race, but two of the runners got their personal best times for a half marathon course. It was a really fantastic day, with supporters lining the track to offer support. There were charity banners hung from bridges and all different types of costumes to be seen.

A huge thank you to each of you who ran the Great North Run for CHIPS. We really appreciate your courage and compassion and hope that you enjoyed the day as much as we did. One runner said that they found the experience a great way to be able to share with people the vision of CHIPS and ask people to support such a great charity.
