CHIPS members Paul and Josh prayed this morning at the site where a 17-year-old boy was murdered in Brixton, London, on Saturday.
The boy was found lying in the street with serious head injuries on Flaxman Road after reports of a street fight. Medics tried to save the teenager, however he was pronounced dead at the scene less than an hour later.
Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have started to investigate and as yet no arrests have been made
This is devastating news, especially as it comes so soon after the murder of Ogarra Dixon - another young man murdered on the streets of Brixton less than two months ago. We know that you will want to keep up to date on the situation so we will be sending out more information on this as and when it becomes available.
Thank you for your continued support as we push to bring peace in the area through prayer and action. Josh has been out on the estates today getting a feel for the atmosphere, chatting to people he meets and praying, and will be playing football with young people in the football cage this afternoon, as he does every week. Please do continue to pray for these vulnerable young people, especially for the family and friends of the young man who was killed, as well as those who were involved in the fight and caused his death, as well as the Brixton community as a whole.
